I have watched The Good, The Bad and The Weird about 8 times since I discovered it was on Netflix instant streaming. (Which is, by the way, the greatest invention EVER) The film directed by Kim Jee-Woon was South Korea’s most expensive film made to date. It grabs you by the balls with the first train fight sequence and doesn’t let go through the whole western comedy.
Jee-Won is back directed the horror film I Saw The Devil. The theatrical run is super soon starting on March 4th and is being released by ever reliable Magnolia. The film stars Oldboy’s Choi Min-sik, and The Good, The Bad and The Weird’s Lee Byung-hyun and is wonderfully violent. The film is about a special agent whose pregnant wife becomes the latest victim of a disturbed serial killer. Vowing revenge, the special agent blurs the lines between hunter and hunted and good and evil. The film brought back rave reviews from TIFF with claims of brilliant execution by the director, particularly the camera work in the original scene when the pregnant girl is murdered.
Magnolia has been a sweetheart and brought us a Red Band Trailer for the film. Exciting.
